Question about `The Bride of Christ` episode

Who pushed the nosy nun down the stairs? This was never resolved in the episode.

**Spoilers**

The actual killer of the two nuns couldn`t have done it, or she would surely have confessed when she was confessing the murders to Father Brown. Also, she didn`t really want anyone else to get hurt.

The nun who was protective of the mother superior doesn`t seem to have done it either, she only went as far as to steal Sister Paul`s letter to the Bishop.

So, whodunnit? From the brief glimpse you got of the `pusher` it seemed to be a nun, they were definitely wearing an oversized cross, and their hands seemed feminine.

We all go a little mad sometimes.

I can't see what motive he'd have at that point. Surely he isn't aware at that point that Sister Boniface knows anything that would endanger his wife.

it was the wife, not her husband. Goes back to St Bridget's, a home for unmarried mothers.
