delivery

does anyone else have an issue with the way the lines are delivered on this show? I think the observational comedy is spot on much of the time. I know these actors to all be funny but they're not funny when they say their lines. What is that? Is it just too much stupid / cute and not enough of anything else or what? It's as if they are all strained to sound funny and be funny but it's completely impossible.

I think that on the whole the actors are delivering their line with "we're so clever." It's the kind of thing that can happen when the lead has also behind the camera control as well, no one looking over their shoulder going tut tut & shaking their heads.

It's like they reused the same joke model for every gag. These jokes are set up, responded to, and the punch line is delivered by the same character in one go without any interaction. For example, scenario presented, problem, observation, punch line. // I can't go back to England. I've forgotten all of the words. Blift? Blory? // And it's just over and over again with this.

Anyway, your's was the only explanation but it would make sense because this is a one person lead show rather than something like, IASIP or the Office. Thanx.

Not at all. The acting on this show is much better than other sitcoms, with rare exceptions.
