2016-2017 season...
If this show gets renewed for the 2016-2017 season, then I might predict that 2016-2017 season should be this show's final season and it has to have an odd-numbered total of episodes over 7, IMO.

shareIt's the most popular original on Hulu. It will be renewed, and that's probably why they're changing up the story, rather than just resolving it with her ending up with Danny.
I have no idea what the "odd number of episodes over 7" bs is. It has enough episodes for syndication. It can be renewed for any number of episodes, and I actually see no rhyme or reason to how many episodes Hulu does for their originals. Mindy was 26, so 2 13-episode seasons. Deadbeat has had 13 and 10 episode seasons. Difficult People was only 8 this year but 10 next year. Casual was 10. I'll say that I'm guessing that TMP will be renewed for at least 10 more episodes, probably at least 13.

If you count how many total episodes from this show's first three seasons, plus 26 and the first upcoming 7 episodes of this show's upcoming 2016-2017 season, then that episode should be permanently important for this show.
