Really enjoyed his character on the new episode. Guess it's too much to hope that he'll be back on any kind of permanent basis since The Real O'Neals has been renewed, but is anyone but me hoping he will be at least a recurring boyfriend like Cliff was? I see he is scheduled to be on next week's episode too.

I would like to see more of him too--he and Mindy were really funny together. But I also saw that he is listed as being in only two episodes, so it would be ideal if they could work out a filming schedule for him to be on TMP and his other show. Didn't Glen Howarton play Cliff while he was still on IASIP?

Yeah, I didn't know if he was only listed for 2 episodes because he's definitely going to be on only two or because that is all IMDB knew about. Sometimes they are not exactly accurate.

And, of course, who knows when those episodes of The Real O'Neils were actually filmed. Might have been long before they aired, since it was a mid-season replacement.

Yes, Howerton was on both shows at the same time, and also, Garret Dilahunt is on an Amazon show and Mindy at the same time. Yet, they wrote out that Dr. Bergdahl last year, presumably because the actor, Dan Bakkedahl got the part on Life in Pieces (though he is also recurring on Veep). Can't say I was sad about that one, though. I like him on the other shows (and movies -- he is one of those guys who is everywhere), but not on TMP.

I think I saw someone post to the effect that TMP is coming back very early to film next season, though, like this month. That could be working around someone's film schedule.
