is chris messina still on the show?

Has danny's character been written off?

reply

Chris Messina is no longer in the credits. Therefore, he's no longer a regular cast member. Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton have tried to obscure this, because less Messina = less audience = slim-to-none chance of renewal.

He's gone. If he shows up again, it will be in the last episode. Like Steve Carell did in the last OFFICE.

Seen it all before. Turn a character into an intransigent jerk overnight, write him out of the story permanently, never mention the character again, then the show becomes unwatchable.

Mindy's posted some pics of them on Instagram in what seems to be episode shootings so I don't think he's completely gone yet. I'm glad his character's being shoved into the background although I do wish he keeps showing up sporadically à la Adam Pally. He's been more a jerk than not since day one and their pairing was rather unbearable if not far-fetched. As long as they keep the comedy well-written and don't switch genres again I'm all for him being (partially) gone.

No, he's not gone. He was shooting a movie, so he missed a few episodes in the fall and more in this half. But they've posted pictures of him on set, and Matt Wharburton said in an interview that he would be on in this half-season as much as last half-season (where he also missed several episodes).

This is my go-to Tumblr I follow that has stuff about the show. She posts every article, every tweet, every Instagram photo. If you scroll, you'll see one of Messina on set. If you click on the post that says there are spoilers, there's another photo of him there, but there's also pretty big spoilers for next week's episode, which apparently aired in Canada and Australia. http://insidethevolt.tumblr.com/

I'm posting this on April 22, so some of the stuff will have moved if you access it much after that.

Idk. I thought I'd be upset if he wasn't on every episode, but I enjoyed last week's episode which was just funny without all the drama.

Danny is not written off, he's reduced as a guest, just like Peter.

Now, Jeremy should be written off and should be a reduced guest in a moment.

The actor, who played Danny, had a movie filming conflict brought up too soon, probably he wanted to earn money in a hurry to recover. I don't understand why he lost more money along the way for no reason at all, but he should not have lost too much money along the way in this show.

Cogent and well-put!

Will he be shooting more episodes?
