Really? (100th episode spoiler)

How are you going to have this episode without Chris Messina? Is he ever coming back? I loved seeing all the past boyfriends though. Will say I love Bryan Greenberg, but they had zero chemistry so not too disappointed about them. I don't think anyone can deny Mindy and Danny have the best chemistry though. I miss him on the show.

I liked the episode. I was sad no Cliff, though.

I was thinking Where is peter??? No show onthe 100rh? The show needs him!

reply

They need everyone in this episode, since the first episode of this series.

I've basically just been waiting for Danny to stop being so old fashioned and accept Mindy being a career woman so they can get back together. I thought they were great together but ever since Mindy went back to work after having Leo, Danny has just annoyed me everytime he's on screen.
I understand the purpose of Ben telling Mindy he loves her was so she wouldn't stop Danny's wedding in last weeks episode so I'm thinking that they really aren't going to get back together. What I don't understand is why her and Ben broke up in this weeks episode. I'm getting kind of tired of seeing Mindy with new guys all the time, I think for now they really should just leave her single for a while.

reply

What I don't understand is why her and Ben broke up in this weeks episode.

2 things...1) He saw her kissing her ex 2)she was embarrassed to tell strangers that he was a nurse

I agree with another poster, they dont really have any chemistry and I'm glad they broke up.

I love Mindy Kaling and all but Mindy (the character) is starting to annoy me this season :-/

Also, I'm sadly distracted by Kaling's new face/lip injections. She was so much more beautiful before :(

reply

I guess I should have worded that better. I do understand why Ben broke up with Mindy, what I don't understand is why the writers did it so quickly. I mean one week they love each other and the next week they break up? I just think it was a poor choice to have them say I love you just so she wouldn't stop Danny's wedding and then break them up a week later.

reply

I agree. However, there has been no evidence that Danny went through with the wedding. I feel like if they get back together. It needs to be gradually. Working up to it for 8 episodes or something. But yeah I vote for single mindy.

There is no series since Y2K as brilliant as this once was. I re-watched the first two seasons probably five times. I don't like to post negative comments, and so I'll just say that The Mindy Project was a brilliant show I idolized in 2013-2014.

Casey is my fave too, they were so funny and cute together.

Dark Stefan, may I have this dance?

reply

My favorite is Casey. I really hope he grows up and becomes end game. He loved her the most and treated her the best. I always get excited when he shows up.

I have to say that I missed Jody more than I missed Danny.

The odd irony about this show, which I assume is hated by some because of the parade of fair anglo-saxon boyfriends supposedly unsuitable for an American woman of Indian descent, is that every single fair anglo-saxon boyfriend made the show funny. Jody has disappeared, but he was starting to make it funny again, too. Mindy Kaling should decide whether she wants to be funny or acerbic.

reply

Differences are funny. Someone like Mindy with a very white stereotypical Protestant minister like Casey or a boring white lawyer like Cliff was funny -- arguably funnier than the more ethnic Danny.

Fwiw, I was watching How to Get Away With Murder and thinking no one on that show seems to date anyone of their own race or, at least, ethnicity either. I thought maybe it was different with Mindy because it has a main character of color, so she should date a man of color, but on HTGAWM, the African-American main character, played by Viola Davis, was married to a white man until his tragic murder in season 1.

The thing is, there are more way more diverse interracial relationships on that show--people dating all different kinds of other people (which is more realistic) whereas the Mindy character is still hung up on only white guys, period. So it's not even the same thing.

reply

I don't see that. HTGAWM has multiple characters dating each other, so obviously, it is different. Mindy is about one character. I think it would be weird if she was just trying to date someone of every race. People usually have a type they like. My uncle has been married three times. When my aunt died, he found another woman who looked uncannily like her. They divorced, and he married a third woman who looks like the first two. If you saw him in 1980 and didn't see him again until now, you would swear he was with the same woman, they look that much alike. No one says, "Hey, Jeff, why don't you try a black woman for diversity?" Mindy's type on the show has actually been pretty consistent with the exception of Danny. Bill Hader's character, Cliff, Casey, BJ Novak's character, and the guy she is dating now are all tall, slim, fair (not just white, but pasty), usually blue-eyed. I think it would be odd if she suddenly had a Chinese boyfriend on the show or something because that is obviously not her type. The show has plenty of diverse characters. They just aren't Mindy's boyfriends.

Do you date people who all look completely different from one-another and are all different races?
