He is so awful I'm really surprised to see threads talking about how they want them to end up together. He tried to manipulate her into getting pregnant while she still had a tiny baby. He constantly implied she was a bad mom for wanting to go to to work. He scoffed at her and told her to be serious when she suggested he stay home the baby. He cheated on his fiancé with her. He is scum. Absolute human garbage. Anyone that still likes his character has to be crazy.
shareIf you mean my thread, I didn't say I wanted her to end up with Danny, only that I think she might. I agree with all the points you've made about him. Also, unlike some people, I do not think these flaws materialized suddenly or were "character assassination" (which has been the case with some boyfriends with whom she broke up). He's been a jerk all along. The only way she should end up with Danny is if he had a huge amount of counseling.
Someone in my thread did say she wanted them to be endgame, though.

Not just your thread, reading around there's lots about who people want her to end up with and how people want Danny to come back, etc. I just think it's really shocking that anyone still likes him. Like if Mindy were a real person and she was my friend I'd straight up have an intervention for her if she even considered going back to him. He is honestly such a horrible person.
I get that people are flawed but he never even shows any remorse. When she found that lipstick and he was just like I don't know what you want me to say. Men have needs. Bleh. And doesn't even care about the poor girl he's cheating on. He tries to sleep with Mindy again after the elevator to piggyback on his last night's sin? That was so gross. Then he considers getting back with Mindy but says he doesn't need to change at all, only she does so when she refuses he figures he'll just marry the other girl he has lined up? He's an absolute psychopath at this point. Just totally selfish and awful.
I have absolutely said that part of me wants Danny and Mindy to be endgame, and I make no qualms about feeling that way. Danny has been a jerk; I'm not denying that at all. He has said many awful and critical things of Mindy, but to ignore all of Danny's facets would be ridiculous. I've been watching this show from day 1 and since then they developed Danny as a character almost as much as Mindy. Danny is a three-dimensional character that can be cruel and stubborn, but also loving and protective. I've seen him be a world class jerk, but I've also seen his character tell Mindy and show her how much he loves and cares about her on many occasions. Their relationship was fairly toxic and I don't think they should be together unless Danny makes some fundamental changes, but to write him off as just a horrible person, I feel, is an injustice to the writing on the show. They are both difficult people to be with and get along with in their own ways, but The Mindy Project did a great job for four seasons of showing why they might be right together.
