Yes! I feel that cable and streaming shows are more like this whereas network sit-coms feel more of a need to have a consistent cast. I like this way. The other day, I was watching two new CBS shows, Kevin Can Wait and that one with Matt LeBlanc, and I felt like, "God, I have seen this show a thousand times before -- a goofy guy and his pretty wife with their kids in a living room set with the staircase in back, Everybody Loves Raymond, Still Standing, According to Jim, etc., etc., etc." Every once in a while, they'll change it up with a show like Roseanne, where the wife isn't hot, but really, a lot of the same show. I really like shows where something unexpected can happen. Hulu definitely does that with shows like Difficult People and Casual. The show that perfected it was FX's Louie, where Louie appeared on all 61 episodes, and no other character appeared on more than 32. Because that is what life is like, you don't spend all day every day with the same people.
