Jennifer Connelly playing a mom to a college kid
Isn't that weird?
shareShe was in her teens in the 80s and that was 30+ years ago
shareNot even remotely. She's 44 years old, meaning she would have had her at 25.
shareA little weird, but mostly because she doesn't look her age (she's 43, born in December 1970) if she actually looked 43 then it would be more believable. Her oldest child in real life is 16 I think, so not too far off from the age of the kids in this film. But yeah having someone who looks like she's in her 30's as the mom of a college student did feel a bit off, I'd probably buy Jennifer Connelly as Lilly Collins aunt more easily.
shareI missed the part where Kinnear slept with his sister. While Jen Connely looks good, she has lost too much weight, and the resulting wrinkles show her age. No way she looks 30s.

There are parents in real life who have grown kids, and who still don't look their age. Like my mom, for instance---she looks like she's still in her early '50's,but is much older, and people are surprised when she tells them she's got 3 adult kids, plus some grandkids. Keep in mind, everybody dosen't automatically get wrinkles, or even start looking older at the same exact age.
That's true, some middle aged people look younger than they are in real life too. My mom is 53 but everyone says she looks ten years younger. I hope I've inherited her skin genes!
shareIt's not weird because she's in her early 40's, meaning she'd have been in her early 20's when they were born. That's entirely plausible really.
shareNot as weird as a movie I just saw called FREE RIDE with the girl who plays Kate in this movie (Liana Liberato) and her mother is played by Anna Paquin -- they're only 13 years apart!

Why, most women that age have children in college.

No. not in the slightest.
If it's a boy, do you think it will look like Rodney? It doesn't matter as long as it's healthy!
