Do not read it you don't want spoilers

Duh

Could have been a 30 min twilight zone episode instead.
It goes black mirror at the end:
No explanation for the dreams, just a new thing to discover and turn into a gadget for advertising profits.
It flirts with Cancel culture and influencing, but not enough to care. Just on the nose reference.

The ending was meh, and didn't resolve anything. He could have used it to repair his marriage and family. Nope.

Glad they are trying new stories, but this was not good enough for a second watch. Imho

As one character says near the end, it speaks to a collective consciousness and you know that if it exits and can be tapped for profit, it will be.

I don't mind they didn't explains the dreams... I mean how could they (in a satisfactory way) and it was not really important.

You say it flirts with cancel culture and influencing... It does more than flirt... it is definitely a comment on both... I mean our main character is canceled for something he has no control over, and they try to use dreams to infuence people...

I say flirt because it simply happens on the side, but is not dealt with, or show how insanely stupid it is to society. they could have and should have done a lot more with it... maybe even show its folly and reversed it in the universe of the movie. missed opportunity in my mind.

I guess so... but I don't completely agree... they chose to focus on the effect and consequence it had on Cage's character... which I thought was more than enough to get the point a cross.
