I'm shocked everyone is hating it.
I loved it! I laughed through out it, and I thought it was better than the first.
sharepersonally I disagree. While the first one wasn't great or anything, I enjoyed it(when intoxicated) and a couple parts made me laugh. This movie however I feel is just a mess. Too many subplots while not a single main plot. The movie isn't about anything yet they rush through so many small things that they don't work(IMO). What was the point of Rudolph forgetting the anniversary? where was the payoff? What was the point of Spade suddenly having a 16 year old son? To make him an adult too? didn't work, no payoff. What was the point of James being mommy-whipped? no payoof, not funny. Same thing with the kid's bully, crush, being on the frat inside, first date, spade's muscular girlfriend, Bean's stupidity, swardson's sexuality, O'Teri's crush, the girl singing well, THE FRAT FIGHT... so many unfunny, sub half plots that are either not used or rushed and in the end just not good or funny.
Not to mention the over use of CGI and the downright stupid scenes. it was hilarious to see a deer piss on sandler and run through the house, real funny....or watching spade roll through a CGI tire, that joke was funny in the 90's on Beavis and Butthead, but here it was stupid(instead of that scene which served no purpose, why not put some jokes into one of your subplots and show that scene.
How about giving Andy Samberg a line or at the least a funny joke to do.
Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on it for hating's sake, I just didn't think it worked. Not the worst sandler movie though I'll give it that. it's not anger management or jack & Jill or mr. deeds or going overboard, so it's got that going for it.
