Plot? Anyone seen a plot around here? Hello

There is no plot. I don’t mean there isn’t much of a plot. I mean there is no plot. Just four repulsive guys (Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade and Kevin James) wandering around their hometown confronting the big themes of life: Urination, Defecation, Drooling, Bad Things Happening to Their Scrotums. Misogynistic, homophobic and sloppy, Grown Ups 2 is essentially a walk down a junior-high school hallway, except for the presence of various lovely women (Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello) who we’re expected to believe actually married these guys. There are people who will argue that 12 Years a Slave is the most depressing movie of the year. Enduring Grown Ups 2 threw me into a much deeper funk.

I have to admit, I did chuckle a couple of times, but the disturbing parts far outweigh the funny parts, all of which were shown in the trailer.

Attention Hollywood: Gross isn't necessarily funny. I mean, it's funny for like, half a second that the gym teacher is unaware that his shorts are way too short. But do they have to repeat that joke multiple times, and for such a long time? Why are people vomiting in every other scene?

Having said that, it is nice to see most of the cast of SNL's funny era on the big-screen again (Tim Meadows, John Lovitz, etc).

It was pretty awful...I felt like Chris Rock was doing standup the whole time. Everytime he said his lines, he would pause, like he was waiting for the audience to laugh. I love Chris Rock and the rest of the guys, but this movie didn't do it for me. The first one was watchable, I liked it alright. This one was just painful to watch.
