It all played out the same way...but at the end, possibly post credits, is that the last couple of seasons have been in Normans head, the doctor was still treating him...he never got out of the mental institution and had moved to a more secure place...and Norma and Romero were living happily at the house...which had a nice fresh paint job on it, and the motel doing well....
shareI personally wouldn't have cared for it. I just dislike those kinds of endings as a rule. To me, it's a cheap cop-out. Why should I feel invested in something that was only in one character's head? Doesn't feel real. Nice thought though, if only it could've played out like that. But if it had, I'd rather just not deep dive into Norman's head at all, and just show it more from Norma's pov.
