I'm somewhat surprised, but not that. I just think there are SO MANY cable networks and shows now, it's difficult to slip into only a 5 or 6-nominee category. TV is extremely dense now with shows all over the place. Back in the day, you only had 3 major networks (and no cable) and a lot less shows to choose from. I hope that Highmore keeps up his great work going into Season 5, because at the very least I'd like for him to get a nomination in the show's final season.
shareFreddie and Vera are absolutely fantastic in season 4. I love this show so much. It seems that critics find the show tacky. Im sure the cast and crew are self confident enough to do without an Emmy because they deliver season after season topnotch tv and they know the public likes it.

shareI am a Game of Thrones viewer and think it's absolutely ludicrous that the likes of Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington are nominated whilst Freddie and Vera are snubbed, again. No one in their right mind can honestly say that Clarke and Harington delivered better performances. But alas, GoT has a huge, juggernaut, hype machine working in its favour. Peter Dinklage gets nominated every year just for breathing.

HUUUUGE Game of Thrones fan here. But I agree 100%. Game of Thrones has a great storyline but Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington aren't fit enough to shine Freddie and Vera's shoes when it comes to acting. But it's all a popularity contest. It's the only reason shows like Homeland (which lets be honest has been declining in quality these past 3 seasons) picks up any nominations. There are plenty of other shows that are getting snubbed as well (Tyrant, Vikings, Penny Dreadful, Black Sails) with great actors.
Peter Dinklage gets nominated every year just for breathing.
I swear to god if Peter Dinklage gets a nomination this year it would be an outrage. He's gone from being the most interesting character to someone who was a colossal waste of screen time this season.

Are you kidding GoT is highly overrated even smallville was a better show.
GoT acting is god awful compared to the way the characters perform and act in the book its ludicrous why people even watch it.

GoT's biggest issue is it's lack of focus on any one character. It's like a medieval soap opera. Viewers who prefer tv shows with a dominant lead character may tend to think of GoT as overrated or boring.

I want to say that it was all fixed by Gaga's team and the panel who judges that category but I can't because I've actually not seen AHS so for all I know Lady Gaga's win was well deserved.... waiting for someone to tell me otherwise.

I loved Lady Gaga in last season of American Horror Story. I have watched every season. I think both AHS and Bates Motel should win many awards.
shareBates Motel and AHS are my 2 favorite shows although AHS has been a let down since Asylum. Bates just keeps getting better and better. I'm so sad to see it end. It should be winning awards left and right.
