Are Lila and Sam still going to be the heroes?

There seems to be a few too many characters left on the board leading into the final season of Bates Motel.

As much as I like Dylan, Romero, Emma, Chick, etc ... I think it would be epic if Norman disposes of them before the end of the show while Lila, Sam and Arbogast are investigating the Bates family history.

I'd hate it if Emma, Dylan and Romero simply replaced Lila, Sam and Arbogast.

As long as Marion is killed, like the way she was in the movie, i'm not bothered.

I agree. Arguably the most important thing about the Marion Crane character is her death scene. If they're reintroducing her for this generation they should do it properly. Stabbed. Shower. THAT character probably won't work without THAT scene.

I don't think Sam and Lila are even characters in season five. If they were going to be cast, we would've heard about it by now. I think Marion is either gay or bi and is seeing that Madeliene Loomis character (some article was calling her a "Norma doppelganger"). I think the Sam and Lila roles will either be Dylan and Emma or Dylan and Madeliene.

I think Alex will be long gone by the show's climax and the new sheriff will start getting suspicious of Norman and have some role in taking him down. I don't think Arbogast will be a character. We already have three new characters that we know of. More than that would feel like a completely different show and I don't see them doing that.

I am definitely going to be interested in seeing just how everything plays out in Season 5, because Detective Chambers seemed suspicious of some of the things Norman was saying in the S4 finale. Plus she saw Norman kicking the TV when she first pulled up to talk to him, and knows that he was in a mental institution.

I don't want to see the series end like a Shakespearean tragedy with all, or most, of the original characters dead upon the stage, so to speak. I've said all along that I think Romero will at some point discover Norma's corpse in the house. Norman, in "Mother's" clothes, will catch him off guard and kill him. But I hope Dylan and Emma survive and go off to live a happy life together. Both of them have reasons to wonder what happened to Emma's mother, and I think they will begin investigating -- in effect replacing Arbogast -- but they won't be killed. Hey, someone has to have a happy ending.

I agree that Arbogast, Lila, and Sam won't be appearing in "Bates Motel." There would have been news of the roles being cast, and there wasn't.
