A very powerful psychological drama series.

SPOILERS.

Iv'e seen the movie "Psycho" a few times years and years ago and recognise the relation to "Bates Motel", currently streaming season 3 on Netflix, this is one powerful TV Drama series, very well-acted, currently watching the episodes where Norma Bates is dating that horrible cop (the one hiding the girl in his basement), this entire TV Show will eventually end because it's basically "Psycho" except for it being in Norman's early years.

Bates Motel is definitely psychological due to the mind games that Norma and Norman play with each other.

We as viewers can't blame Norma for every wrong thing that Norman does, as we see - he's able to make right decisions, he knows wrong from right, his blackouts are a grey area, but overall he's responsible for his own actions, loads of people have been abused by their parents (example Dave Pelzer was severely abused really badly by his mother and he didn't turn into a psycho) but it's still no excuse for doing wrong things, you can change your life, you shouldn't let your situations change you, which is what Norman did - he allowed other people (his mum, his dad) to determine how he went through life, what he could have done is stay in school and then get the hell out of that town and away from Norma, it's probably easier said than done, but "Bates Motel" is just fiction.

The borderline incest relationship between Norma and Norman is rarely talked about with fans, the incest is shoved right in our faces and people don't want to acknowledge it, they don't have a normal mother / son relationship.

Bates Motel - A great TV Series.
