The ending to "Forever" was probably the best 10 minutes of TV

Because of how well it was acted, shot and edited.

Seriously.

I did not expect that ending, but come to think of it, I should've, cause we all knew Season 5 was a remake of Psycho, so season 4 had to go full-speed ahead on setting up the story for that. I just didn't expect them to kill Norma in that way in the penultimate episode.

I was proud of the writers. They didnt drag her death out until next season....she served her purpose and it was time to move on.

Exactly! I'd imagine many people (myself included) expected her death to a big dramatic thing that will happen in the last episode of the season, or maybe the last scene in the season 5 premiere, but the way it was instead handled was very chilling and poignant.
