Seeing as how the only portrayal of Mr Escobar to date consisted of file footage and Vince Chase in "Medellin", didn't know how to approach this. I have NEVER watched a spanish language soap but have gotten totally hooked on this. Of course, being bilingual helps, as it isn;t subtitled. Soap style content is definitely oriented to male viewers (minimal romance angle) and seems, so far, to follow the historical timeline. Bravo Telemundo!!

shareI just finished the series and have to say, It blew me away. There's hardly a sympathetic main character in the whole story, but by the end, you'll have somewhat of an affinity for this group of (extremely) bad guys. It get a very rare 10* from me.

Definitely worth it. I watched Narcos then went to Escobar, El patrón del mal straight away, and I'm glad I did. This series fills in the gaps and makes for a much more nuanced picture of this murderous machista.
