I have to wait until it comes online to watch it b/c I don't get Amazon, can't afford it. Anyway, I did read the synopsis for this episode it said "The walls close in on Reid as a secret from his past threatens to destroy his future in Whitechapel".
I wonder what secret that could be and also if anybody has been watching - it would be Jackson who should be in trouble for faking the death of Susan, and how they are planning to escape and take their child away from Drake/Rose as well. I am so intrigued by what Reid's secret could be; I love Reid, he's my favorite character - I wonder what the writers are conjuring up for his character; I don't want him to leave the show, and I hope Amazon will give us a season 5, b/c I think Ep. 6 was the season finale for season 4.
Thanks in advance - if anybody watched episode 6 last night could you please tell me what happens w/my favorite character Reid.. you could reply on here using the spoiler tags or PM me. Thanks again.
The ending is so sad, I couldn't believe it. That backstabbing whore betrays Drake. She tells her new lover that Reid and the others left Susan's father for dead. That's the secret from his past. Reid and Drake are wanted men and are forced to go on the run with Jackson and Susan. Drake fights with the crazy man and loses. He dies after Jackson and Reid try to save him.
I think the whole dark secret is more about Reid killing his daughter's kidnapper - that was what was found beneath the Curiosity Shop. It's been a bit of a time bomb ever since he did it, so I wasn't all that surprised when it finally came out into the open. The point is that Reid is actually guilty, so I'm not sure how they're going to get round it except by covering it all up again at the same time as defeating Dove.
You're mistaken. What they found beneath the curiosity shop was the body of Theodore Swift, Susan's father. Why else would they issue an arrest warrant for both Reid and Drake? Drake had no part in killing Matilda's kidnapper, but he was there when they left Theodore to die. I thought it was very clear.
Thank you all for replying so fast, I can't believe these spoilers; I guess I will have a box of tissues on hand after reading this. I'm in shock about Drake dying, he was such a sweet guy who really tried to do his best at the job, but always knew that he did need Reid. I am so distraught about Drake, and I'm sure Jackson/Reid are as well since they were all such close friends and co-workers. The show will never be the same w/o Drake gone. I guess the pass always comes back somehow in the end.
I agree. The show will never be the same again. I can't imagine Ripper Street without Drake. The ending is really emotional. Reid lost his best friend. In the end Drake doesn't have anymore fight left in him. He's a broken man. He hanged an innocent man and worst of all, he's betrayed by the woman he loves. Rose is to blame for all of this.
I blame Jackson and Susan more than Rose. Nothing was enough for Susan. And I'm pissed more at Jackson for being so stupid in regards to her. She deserved to hang. And since he devised her escape and she got away with it, she COULD have kept still, stole money, and appreciated her "reprieve." But NO, she has to go hanging around THE INSPECTOR'S house -- and Jackson's dumbass let her.
Yeah, I hate Rose too. She never truly appreciated Drake. He was too dull for her. But it was clear this season that she was in a state of depression -- being childless, feeling worthless, and not becoming whoever she dreamed to be. Then to have that compounded by grief and a lack of sleep. Finally given a child who responded happily to everyone except her. She turned to the only person showed her favor, only she doesn't know she was being used.
I agree, the show won't be the same without Drake. However Det. Thatcher is funny enough to fill Drake's shoes. Most significantly, it can't be the same with Reed as an outlaw and on the run.
* No spoiler warnings here as you shouldn't even be reading this thread if you don't want it spoiling!!! *
Drake is truly a tragic loss to the show but it currently has such superior writing that it will continue without him... superior writing that is apart from Jackson. Seriously, for how much longer are we expected to suspend our disbelief for his thoroughly dislikeable, vagabond character and his increasingly absurd antics? Sadly, with the loss of Drake it can only strengthen Jackson's standing in the series but hopefully we'll soon see the end of Long Susan, an original series character now way past her sell by date.
Who's we? I like Jackson and I'm sure other people like him as well. I'm not sure why you hate him so much, but it's not healthy. You clearly have some anger issues to deal with. I suggest seeking some professional help.
Seriously, do shut up. Suggesting my dislike of a fictional character is part of a major flaw in my real life is just plain idiotic, you utter tool.
It's my opinion, I never said you or anyone else had to agree with it. If you're happy to continue swallowing such flawed scripting of Jackson, then it simply confirms to me that my own expectations of the series are higher than yours.
Hahaha!! That is exactly what you did! You said that he was unbearable! You didn't say that you think he's unbearable. It was a statement and not an opinion. I'm done wit you, go bother someone else.
