Does anyone know if the new series has actually started on Amazon yet, I can see the air date of the 15th Jan but have yet to hear anybody talk about it.

shareYes I have spoken to Amazon twice and for whatever reason it's not available on US Amazon yet, if ever. However tonight I again spoke to an Amazon rep and learned that we can purchase the DVD when it becomes available. I don't mind purchasimg however I do mind that we can only get a dvd. Also, I am not happy that those of us outside of the UK are not able to watch via Amazon streaming.
I told the rep I can find it on streaming platforms but I am used to watching with my cc on.
And we in the US are annoyed Ripper St season 4 isn't available in the US via streaming. So far as a DVD goes, those are nearly as obsolete as cylinder audio recordings, I've no use for them. I found a third party distributor, but they have dodgy servers and I lost connection when it went to commercial and was unable to reload the show
Plus, it doesn't offer closed caption, and i wound up only catching maybe 20% of the dialogue. The local dialect appears to include a fair amount of mumbling.
I totally agree regarding DVD 's. I have found season 4 but on 3rd party site with subtitles I believe but I haven't gotten a chance to watch yet. If you've heard of Kodi that would be your best chance.
shareSometimes Amazon does not offer streaming until just before the DVDs are available. Since Season 4 won't be released on DVD until September 27, we may not see streaming in the US until then.
