Why So early?
I just looked to see what time Ripper Street was on tonight... and it's over. It was on BBCAmerica at 5:00 pm (Central Standard Time) and it's on the same time next week. And... they don't repeat the episode. 😫

shareDANG IT......I was just looking for it too and saw your post, but they will hopefully put it on demand. We have direct tv and they have, the first 2 episodes posted which were not up last week. Sometimes they wait a week.
shareI made a complaint on BBC America's "Contact Us" about this. It actually starts at 3 pm where I live. They did this before with the program that was on Thursday nights before Ripper Street started. It was a five part mini-series called "Thirteen" and I didn't discover the time was changed until after I missed the final two episodes. Ripper Street is the only thing I am watching on BBC America right now, so it is very frustrating. I see tonight we are getting the movie "Air Force One" in place of Ripper Street. So once again the emphasis is on the America part of BBC America and not on the BBC part.
shareGuys, I don't even see your posts on the desktop site, only the mobile site. What the hell is that all about?
And I'm disgusted with BBC America over this time change. What the hell are they trying to do... encourage viewers to watch the shows they like on streaming platforms like Amazon Prime?
And yes, I missed the new episode because of this time change crap too. So I'll have to look for it On Demand, but if I knew this station was going to pull this crap just a few episodes in, I probably would have just waited for Amazon to start streaming it so I could watch it when I felt like it without this kind of bull.
I'm so annoyed by this.
Well if you have cable and put it on series recording ; it will record it no matter the time and it will eventually come up On Demand.
shareI don't have a DVR, so I have to wait for it to appear On Demand, and so far it's not there yet.
And that still doesn't explain why stations like BBC America shaft their own original programming in this manner. It's dumb beyond belief, and in my opinion is designed to kill the shows that they do it to.
Agreed, and it's not like they couldn't show one or two LESS episodes of Star Trek NG and repeat the original shows a couple times during the week. You would think they would want to promote viewers of the new shows. Doesn't make sense.
I think it will be on demand after about a week.
I was so pissed off over that. 6pm is such a ridiculous timeslot and of course they didn't repeat the ep either.
BBCAmerica sucks anyway but I was looking forward to this show so much.
Shake me up, Judy!
> I think it will be on demand after about a week.
Usually it's a few days.
Sadly this is not the first time BBCA (and Tiger Aspect) have sabotaged an excellent program, this time dumping it in a time slot when few people are watching TV and/or do not have DVRs. The first two series of Robin Hood 2006, which starred the talented young actor, Jonas Armstrong, were well-publicized and aired during prime time. (Coincidentally, Mr. Armstrong plays Nathaniel in RS.) Unfortunately the last episode of S2 was horrible, departing from the legend of RH with the murder of a major character. This episode of what was promoted as a family program was shown during Christmas week in the U.K. creating a lot of protests from viewers. The ratings dropped significantly as the quality of the third series deteriorated and plans for a fourth series were dropped.
BBCA has shown the previous episodes of RS S4 On Demand so hopefully they will add the final sixth episode, Edmund Reid Did This.
I'm looking forward to the fifth series of Ripper Street on Amazon Prime.
I binge watched season 4 recently on watchseries.ac
So anyone get an answer why Ripper Street was moved? Is it because it is in its last year now and ratings are not good?
I know the creators wanted 2 years to complete the White Chaoel story line but they only gave them this year now, right?
Usually it's the case of ratings. You don't move something into an hour when many are not home, or are eating dinner, etc. They did the same thing with Thirteen. And SciFi has been doing this for a couple years now.
As for it being the last season, at least they have these last few since originally being cancelled.
