'Time , hightower. Time.'

At the autopsy of the guy who was drowned with beer, Chief Inspector asks for the cause of death. Jackson replies comically & dramatically,

"Time, hightower. Time."

Was Jackson quoting some famous statement in literature?

No, he was stating time as the cause of death. I don't fully get it but I think it was a reference to becoming to drunk to climb to safety, as in if he had tried sooner he would have survived but I can't believe someone would happily float around in some beer drinking it.

I've dreamt about swimming in beer, but I also know the dangers of it and would wear a lifejacket and some inflatable armbands for when I inevitably pass out.
