okay to watch "with the parents"?

So...my parents are coming into town this week, and I'm looking for some more British detective shows to watch with them. They like "Lewis," "Worricker," "Death in Paradise" and "Endeavor" and (on a completely unrelated note) "Call the Midwife," so my mom's not exactly squeamish, but still... would you watch this show with your parents?

If they are able to watch violence as a performance, yes. If they watch TV shows that show autopsies close up, yes.

However, if they dislike as mush as I do having the worst of Victorian backstreets thrown in their faces, they may have as much trouble as I did looking past the unpleasantness. I also usually dislike Matthew Macfadyen, but finally managed to get past that and allow the characters become familiar acquaintances.

That said, I'm the elderly parent who watched after my (adult) daughter recommended it to me.

No. Sex, whorehouses, lots of 'blokey' plots with graphic violence. Your parents may like this show, but don't watch it with them.
