Maybe Not For Some Americans

I'm an American who really likes this series, but I've been reading through some of the complaints and to....It seems like several are disappointed that things don't end up tidy like most detective series in the states....I think Reid said it best when he described Whitechapple being compelling because of its dark underbelly that makes living elsewhere mundane. In that environment much of what we see might not be as it truly is...Including people.

As for the continuation......Logically they should all get as far away as possible, but then there's no series. It will be interesting to see where things go from here...Very interesting indeed

We do like nice wrap-ups, but we also like shows that continue on forever. That's not the British way of doing it. There's also the fact that Reid was continuing on a pretty self-destructive path, and the show did not have any happy endings in sight. Only in my imagination could it have one, and even then not a very good one.
I'm not sure how popular this is with Americans anyway. I personally like it out of my love of all things Matthew Macfadyen. This show has also made me love Adam Rothenberg, who was the best part of every scene he acted.

I made the remark after finally seeing the whole season. Later when I thought about how things ended I realized the plot was full of really illogical acts by all that really made no sense what so ever. Everything went to hell because of dumb actions by all the primary characters
