What is his story? Do we know what he's running from in his past? Is he a real doctor? Why is he Reid's favorite medical examiner?
Reid and Drake overlooked serious ethical problems with him just to get his expertise. Of course, he proves himself to be incredibly smart, but still another doctor would be far less trouble.

Oh no, I totally disagree, as I think the actor they cast here is utmost perfection. This show is superbly cast, but none more so that Captain Jackson. I'm just trying to figure out why and how Reid came to find him. It's amusing that Jackson was once fired for being a drunken lout, and Drake returned him.

He doesn't have a history, they just make it up as they go along.

It is shocking how much better he looks with those burns though.
