New theme song....
Tonight's Season 2 Christmas Episode was the first time I thought the new theme song fit perfectly.

shareI still prefer the first-season opener, and it was nice to hear that at the end of the episode. It was a great episode.
I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.
I still prefer the first season theme song too - but this xmas episode was the perfect backdrop for the cheesy second season theme song. That was my point. If only it had been a one time deal. Sigh.
shareI'd always agreed with your opinion - the theme does sound "Christmas-esque" - but I was just longing for the good old days
(last year is the good old days? Really?)
It was humorous once. When something really catches on you find yourself humming it in the car, or wherever (no one can hear you) - - and I tried humming the new theme in the car (thankfully no one heard me) - I wasn't into it - it didn't catch on - at this point I don't think it's going to.

It was humorous - once - and I feared it would turn new fans away. It may have.
Sometimes I just don't understand networks and show runners/writers. They've changed this show's format and I prefer the first season as well. I always will I suspect.
Another show that has changed is Mike & Molly, now it's a silly, slapstick comedy showcasing the actress Melissa McCarthy's new movie characters (silly, stupid characters if you ask me). I can barely stomach watching M & M now.
Sometimes I think fans should pool their resources and write shows. At least we seem faithful to a show's premise and character quirks/flaws/strengths.
At this point I don't really know where my reply is going but to sum it up, nay on the second season theme song. I just wanted to point out it only worked or applied for one stinking episode - the xmas one!
