neighbors and suburgatory

Both shows had second seasons that paled compared to the first,
surprised they got renewed for another season if the new season was going to be dreck,
but they both pale in quality and humor compared to happy endings, which was still
funny and smart in its third season, only to get canceled,
anyway i guess it serves abc right because i haven't seen one new comedy on abc that deserves a second episode viewing

People always talk about how great Happy Endings was. I saw a couple episodes and it was okay, at best. And there was a three month marketing campaign on the network itself begging people to watch and "Save Happy Endings."

Nobody cared. It got axed. Its over.

The Neighbors is a decent show. Nothing amazing. But its a fun, different little show - although, this season has been really weak, the ratings are bad and ABC is out to murder it.

And Suburgatory is a pretty crappy show. The actors who play the father and daughter (forget their names) are way better than that show.

Jeremy Sisto and lovely Jane Levy. They are the only reason to watch.

Uh, excuse me - what about the third reason? Cheryl Hines?

I saw one episode, loved seeing Cheryl again and it was great seeing Jeremy Sisto do something lighthearted, although he didn't exactly get the lion's share of funny lines.

However, Hines, Sisto and possibly this third one, Levy (I don't know her) are better than that material.

Here's an idea for ABC - what about actually writing a good show and casting a where-is-she-now with a bunch of unknowns (THE NEIGHBORS) as opposed to tossing in well-known stars who the network thinks can "save anything"? (GOLDBERGS, BACK IN THE GAME, SUBURGATORY)

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

This is WAY funnier than either the Michael J Fox 'comedy' or the tiresome Crazy Ones!

Michael J Fox show is funny, so is The Neighbors.

But, see, Crazy Ones has a great chance to live forever because product placement/advertising is written INTO the show. You can practically hear the show's pitch to network exes:

"Guys, we know NBC needs a turn around show, so what we do is make a show with advertising IN THE SHOW. It'll be about an advertising agency, so each week the premise will be about advertising a brand! Imagine an entire episode about how great McDonalds is?!

All we need to do is get an older comic actor, preferably someone who isn't hot right now who won't command a large salary [Robin Williams], and then we cast a pretty blonde as his daughter [Sarah Michelle Geller]."

I knew without even looking at rating that Crazy Ones would get a full season order the second I saw the pilot.

I never got HAPPY ENDINGS. It used to air after one of the other shows i watched
(was it MODERN FAMILY?) and sometimes i would leave it on and catch a bit
of it, and always found it to be terrible.

Not sure what people think 'smart writing' is but i never saw it on that show.
