Christmas episode was a great episode but is it too late ?..

The Christmas episode had the show the way I like it to be , it reminded me of the first season.
This season has been all over the place and out of the 11 episodes that aired only about 4 were memorable to me.
The two episodes with Jackie's parents were just awful , the worst the show has been in my opinion , so glad they are gone and the Christmas episode was a return to the way the show was in its first season but I feel this season has been a bit of a mess , characters missing a couple of episodes at a time , jokes that missed their marks , the shark tank episode... so I am hoping that it's not too late and that the show will get back on its feet from there.
I am not hoping for a third season because there is little chance that it will happen because of the ratings and the lack of promotions from ABC
but I hope that it will be able to end its second season and that ABC will let the show runners give us a proper ending.
I love that entire cast , from the kids to the adults , I re-watched the first season this week and I fell in love with it all over again. I am sad that , so far , they did not have a second season that was as good as the first but I want them to end the show the best possible way , I just hope that ABC will let them..
