Do you think there might still be hope for a season 3 ?

I havent checked the ratings in a while but personally I find the show has improved since the Christmas episode. For the ones in there who knows about all that stuff , do you think this show stand a chance to be renewed or there is absolutely no hope and we should consider this the last season of the show? I can really say I will be genuinely sad when it will get cancelled. "The Goldbergs" and "The Neighbors" are the only half hour shows I had enjoyed in a very long time...

I hope there a season 3 but I am not sure whether there would be on or not. Even though, I think the writing is better in Season One then Season Two, I still watch the show. I still love it. I would be upset if they cancel it as this is the only TV show I watch but I am not sure if there will be a season 3. I think the best we can do is cross our fingers and keep watching every week. We won't find out until May.

If ABC decides to give The Neighbors a third seasons, I hope that hey have the good sense to put it back where it belongs ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT! And maybe, oh, I don't know publicize the show just a little.

It won't be officially announced until May (like you said), but that they've been airing doubles of that 8 p. m. show instead of The Neighbors doesn't bode well for our Zabvronian friends.

Theres no way in hell. Sadly.

ABC clearly had no confidence in the show even after they green-lit Season 2. They chopped the budget per episode for the second season and then proceeded to sandwich it between two shows that it shares little-to-no demographic with and, on top of that, never bothered to promote it.

ABC never promoted the show or had commercials for it.

I'm convinced the only reason they bothered green-lighting Season 2 is because they figured it would be cheaper than producing a new show. So they used The Neighbors as filler.

"ABC never promoted the show or had commercials for it."

The only "publicity" I recall was a black background with the horrible, mean and nasty comments from critics written in the now-familiar bilious green. That writing disappeared and was replaced with "It's ok to say you like it."

Having discovered this show entirely by accident - here in Singapore it was shown late Sunday night, before Modern Family which I love - I sincerely hope we haven't seen the last of it. I've only seen a few episodes from Season 2, most of which I loved... and I am usually quite hard to please when it comes to comedy, so I'm hoping that when I see the (by all reports much stronger) first season I'll enjoy it even more.

Never say never. Somebody at ABC likes it or it would've been gone already. The "Shark Tank" episode got decent ratings (all things considered) during November sweeps and now they've pulled it off the air for February sweeps -- on the surface that may look like a crappy move but, with the bizarre logistics of Neilsen Ratings, the sweeps periods are one of the biggest factors when yearly ratings are tallied, so yanking it for the month helps ensure its overall yearly score won't get worse. That said, the ratings aren't the all-important deciding factor that they used to be...

The show is in it's second season, which is 44 episodes in the can and it's produced by ABC, which would profit if they could get enough episodes to get a syndication deal. "According to Jim," "8 Simple Rules," "Grounded for Life," "Less Than Perfect, "Rules of Engagement" and jeez. ALL of the recent NBC sitcoms have lasted longer than they had any right to ratings-wise because they were banking on the shows having an afterlife in reruns. This one has a particular edge since there aren't many family friendly sitcoms lasting long enough to be syndicated these days. It's tame enough to run 5 days a week on ABC Family -- and it easily could if they shot just one more season's worth of episodes (66 episodes equals two months worth of episodes when aired once-a-day). Hell, if they produce it cheaply enough to justify back-end profits, I could see the show staying buried on Friday nights with dismal ratings for two more seasons just so they can get it into wider syndication... which is precisely what they're doing with "Last Man Standing." With that in mind, I'm not counting The Neighbors out quite yet.
