Was this series going to be LA Noire or is it just me that was day dreaming ? An adaptation of the game? Or is it an adaptation, but with a different name and different character names ? I played the Game and love Frank Darabond's work, so yeah. Anybody know??
Actually Mob City, L.A. Noire, LA Confidential, The Black Dahlia, and the list goes on were all loosely (some closer than others) based off of the books written by James Ellroy in the late 80s to early 90s. The series of four books is called The L.A. Quartet. Check them out or atleast give it a good google. They are great. I personally am a HUGE fan of this genre and I hate to see this series go. I actually think they did a great job with the show. It's a shame to see it go but I hope to see Hollywood keep on churning out the noiristic (if that's a word. If it's not I lay claim to it) stuff. Curious to see Leo take on a role.
While Ellroy has a book named L.A. Noire, Mob City is based on L.A. noir: the struggle for the soul of America's most seductive city by John Buntin. Buntin's book is non-fiction focusing on the struggle between Cohen and Parker.
