The worst part of Comic Book Men

Is by far Kevin Smith.

It always amazes me what an uninteresting person he is.

You'd think he would be the kind of person who would have deep and poignant thoughts, but he doesn't. It's all generic small talk and corny jokes. And the questions he poses to his friends in the show, the discussion starters, are always so lame and cliché. There nothing that ever makes you think.

The real Kevin Smith turns out to be a lot more like his later work than the Silent Bob in his earlier work.

I have to disagree, Kevin Smith is a great straightman here.

It's not the Kevin Smith show and I don't watch it to hear a bunch of whacky celeb stories. It's comic book men, and for however much it's scripted the comic book store antics and conversations are well presented. It's KS job to play the everyman with an occasional whacky comic-related story, and he does it pretty well.

I disagree. His role on Comic Book Men isn't to be the focal point of the show. If you want to hear more of Kevin there is plenty of opportunity with the smodco podcast stuff on Hollywood Babble-On, Smodcast, and Fat Man on Batman.

Kevin Smith is awesome, man.

reply

With the podcasts and everything he has exhausted himself to a degree.
I still find him likable as a person.
I don't mean to impose, but I am the Ocean.

So you are basing it solely on this show? Watch one of his Q and A features. He's actualiy known for being a great talker.

reply

The worst part of the show to me is that its only 30min now

Gamesystems never become obsolete if they are still fun to play

reply

Kev rules and it's great seeing him with everyone else , but the thing I dont like about it is the way he nods his head when listning to whatever they're saying, usualy toward the begining of the show. Not sure why I guess it just seems kinda forced.

I hear that. I really preferred the format from the first season.

reply

Kevin is good on the show. Next season I hope to see the show go back to being an hour long.

Totally agree. Shorten "Talking Dead" back to a half-hour and return this to an hour.

Except that you've never met him, spoken to him, etc. That's a TV persona, ya dumb putz.
