Why the F does Kevin Smith wear that jersey?

He wears it because he loves hockey, but since he's about, 600lbs too heavy to play it, sitting around in sweaty jersey is his only other choice.

He does have a bunch. Some of them say Puck U, some say Spoilers, there's others too.

I don't disagree that he's overweight, but the guy does play (and love) hockey, such as when in 2010 he encouraged a Guinness World Records number of people to join him as he played in 2010 at the Walter Gretzky tournament.

It's called branding. Kevin Smith has a fan following. A substantial one. If he wears a certain jersey enough times, he can make money selling it.

The ones he wears are custom made and cost over $300. I don't know if a lot of people would pay that much for them.

Kevin Smith does lots of Q&As, podcasts, etc. People have asked him before if he's considered coming out with a line of them for fans and he says that they're too expensive; he threw out a figure once of around 300 or so.

He wears them everywhere and all the time (at least he did for a while). My point is that if for several episodes you see him wear a single jersey, it's because he recorded the episodes in a single day.

Part self promotion, part because I think he sees himself as somewhat of a human cartoon so he feels the need to wear the same clothes all the time.
