Can't stand how the quibble abut the price's..

Its like this ...I'm selling something for $300.00 then one of the guys will go "How about $299.75 ...WTF. If you don't want it for $300.00 just don't buy it....Don't try to rip me off for a quarter ...I guarantee if you were to buy a new comic off the rack you won't be able to get it 25 cents off like a new car at the dealership ..The cover price is debatable.. WOW I saved a QUARTER YES YES YES!! Its like a slap in the face. Greedy A$$holes .

There are tons of cable shows in which people go back and forth about prices from storage shows to the pawn shop shows, Antique's Roadshow, Deadliest Catch, and more. People love it.

reply

I don't mind going back N forth but quibbling over twenty five cents and the comic is three hundred dollars WTF or quibbling over twenty five dollars and the comic or whatnot
is three thousand dollars It doesn't make sense .Your not getting over. What it is .....Is a slap in the face.

Not sure if you're understanding how the sales process works, it's called negotiating. It happens all the time in businesses like these, they're selling USED goods here, not hot off the presses comics. And that $200.75 is actually $275, no one quibbles over quarters on this show.

reply

Well I have seen "negotiating" over 1 dollar and also over fifty cents On this show. That guy Walt is a "shyster"

Please name one example where Walt argued over a dollar or fifty cents, unless you are counting when a customer just wants to feel like they "win" the haggle.

Sure as hell beats Pawn Stars! I used to watch but quit b\c of the silly sit-com atmosphere. Comic Book Men was meant to be that way. Pawn Stars wants you to think you'll learn something (about historical items) but all you'll get are some boobs trying to be funny.

reply

Blame. Pawn Stars. That's why the haggle segment exists. In fact, I'll bet you that the haggle that you hate was insisted on by someone in charge of the show.

Right ....When the amount of money your try'n to save in any direction buyer/seller is so minuscule, tiny compared to the price of the object ,that's when its stupid quibbling ..Its like the dollar your going to save is less than the sales tax your not going to pay anyway.

You can't be this stupid.

I've noticed the opposite: How about $300? Oh, I don't know, would you take $75? It seems like Walt is consistently low-balling on every counter offer.

I just learned how to use the "Spoiler" button...

reply

He does both .If he see you don't have a clue he'll low ball ya.I'm glad to see a few people just more or less figure out better to sell my stuff somewhere else .

It's really obnoxious, especially since the point of the show has nothing to do with making money on comic books.

reply

People come in with a comic in *beep* condition saying "it goes for $300 on ebay (near mint)" expecting to get 300. Walt doesn't low ball them, he gives them a reality check.

reply

I have never seen Walt or anyone haggle on the show over anything less than probably $25, I think you're exagerrating to try to make some point. The show's entire premise is Pawn Stars in a comic book store. You should have known that going in.
