Guy with beard

Looks stupid with the new haircut.

reply

Agreed..not even sure why he is still on the show..

reply

Always hated him he doesn't know anything about comics.

reply

Agreed..

reply

He may not know anything about comics, but he's funny as hell.

reply

Funniest on the show has been Jason Mewes. Too bad he's only had guest appearances.

reply

Probably because he's the funniest one on it.

reply

Exactly..you said everything i wanted to..just was to lazy to type it all..LOL.. ;b

reply

Yeah, if you're gonna chop the hair, then lose the beard. Otherwise ya end up looking like you should be playing standing bass in a bad rockabilly band. But, at least he doesn't look like he's trying too hard to look like Alan Moore anymore.

Brian kind of annoys me, because he's a smartass... but he's not funny. I don't mind smartasses if they're actually funny, but, he can't back it up. He just insults everybody about being a nerd while there he sits, the biggest nerd of the bunch. It's like watching Donald Trump make fun of somebody's hair.

Walt also irritates me, getting so over-ruled by his childhood, and always being a jerk to Ming. Ming's the most likeable guy on the show; he's a goof but has no attitude about it, and isn't always trying to kiss up. I get tired of him being the butt of every joke, although he's a good sport about it. And Mike's okay; he basically seems like he's just doing his job. But Walt and Brian, eh, the lesser the better. And Kevin Smith... the only interesting thing about him being on that show is watching him manage to string four or five words together without one of them being the effword. I'm a fan of the effword, but Kevin Smith wears me out with that thing... he's like Deadwood on a lock-groove.

Mostly I just watch the show out of curiosity to see what stuff will be brought into the store... although those interactions are so faked it's painful.

According to multiple episodes of the podcast, Bry has Adam's apple and double chin issues. The beard is not going anywhere. He has told a story a few times about how some jock in a creative writing class he took in community college mocked him about his Adam's apple while he was reading a paper he wrote. He even approached a doctor about having it shaved, and was told that the surgery is common for transsexuals.

reply

Yup. This is all correct. The beard is a must for Bry. He feels like he needs it.

If you guys haven't listened to the pod and you're bashing Bry for "not being funny" or whatever the ass. It's because you're not getting the real Bry, or Walt, for that matter. You're getting fabricated and neutered versions of these guys for this scripted TV show. Stop watching the show and listen to TESD.

You're definitely getting the real Ming on CBM though. But it's also the fake Ming.

reply

Yeah, Brian needs to sit in a corner and continue to rot away.

reply

That's actually his store. He worked there for a while and then he ended up buying it. He's cool but he's very negative and yeah he knows nothing about comics which is odd.

reply

Bry (beard guy) doesn't own the shop. Kevin Smith owns it and Walt manages it. This is Stash 101.

reply

He needs it otherwise he looks like a huge dork.

reply

He looks like a huge dork with it! I don't think he looks any dorkier in the picture...

...but cultivating the "hipster" look at a graying age normally requires chiseled features and a physique like Brad Pitt...not someone that looks like he has the smell of Arm Pitt. Actually, I'm wrong...most hipsters I've run across have B.O. and halitosis. Guess it's too much of a sell-out to bathe and gargle.

reply

Why are you getting that close to so many hipsters mouths that you can smell their breath?

reply

Yeah, he's a dirtbag.
