Have any of you been to the Secret Stash?

Have any of you been to the Secret Stash? How was it?

I'm assuming these guys on the show aren't actually working there well at least not full-time like 5 days a week?

I know I read some where Ming, is actually a graphic designer and has a real/decent career, so they just make it look like he's a full time employee there.

Walt and Mike actually DO work at The Stash. Others include Sunday Jeff (on Sundays), "Git 'em Steve-Dave" (real name unknown), and a cleaning lady. Ming works at the office nearby The Stash, but lately is almost always at one Comic-Con or another repping CBM.

By most accounts, Walt is usually off doing Manager things, leaving Mike and Git 'em to deal with customers. And Bry only pops in to record TESD with Walt and Q after store hours. If you want to meet them all in one go, the only time would be during filming of CBM.

Dale_Fred,

Awesome thanks for the response. I'm assuming you live close by in Jersey?

The B roll exterior shots always make it look like a nice suburb neighborhood not the stereotypical Jersey image we get from other movies and shows lol.

I'd love to go to the Stash one day. It's probably real tiny as most shows make a small spot look much larger from wider angles and such. I remember I went to a taping of the Tonight Show when Jay Leno was still hosting it and I was shocked how tiny the place was once I sat down in my audience chair.

I have been quite a few times. The first time I met Walt and he tagged my clerks disc. He was a genuine person and this was well before the show was even a brainchild. He of course was nervous and an introvert. Seemingly not very involved with fans of the Smithverse. Come to think of it this was before the podcast were even big. Another time I went for a Kevin Smith show at the count Basie theater. I'm not sure who was jockeying the register as the store was packed. Then the third time, Mike zapsh** was there and he had the absolute worst attitude I've ever seen for an employee of a great market of nerdom. There was a teen-ager there who traveled from Ohio to see the stash and was asking Mike questions mentioning he was a big fan of the show and Mike was a complete à** to him. Brushing his shoulder off at everything the kid has to say. The kid has a cart full of merchandise and was patronizing a business that this man was the proprietor of. So when I myself asked Mike a question he gave me a smirk retort and continued with whatever it was that he was doing. I understand that life is hard for most, given he lost everything in hurricane sandy and whatnot, but sir you are in a small populace of people that have an opportunity to not have to bare a** to make a buck like those of us that have to wake ourselves up to go to our miserable jobs so don't ruin it for the rest of us. Anyway sorry about the rant, that experience was just upsetting. The last time I was there it was some young man who would gladly help you with anything you needed. Even suggested me some new books to pick up and introduced me to the dark horse crossover sci Fi series. I would say of you are a Smith fan or a fan if the show, take the pilgrimage to the Mecca, that's what me and my friends call it anyway. Word on the streets is if you Call the store the day of you can generally find out whose working the day. Sidebar: I met Brian Johnson and Ming months back. Brian is a great presence with a sense of humor that many don't see humorous. He is very kind hearted and likes people. But can you imagine how many people these people have to meet on a regular basis? Anyway go to the stash and go to the quick stop for a Gatorade. You won't regret the trip to Redbank because it is beautiful there.

Punkfilm, that is a big wall of text that is hard to read, but contains some interesting information. But it sounds like you're saying we should go visit the Stash so Mike Zapcic can be rude to us. Doesn't sound like a good time.
