Smelling the books.


I agree with Walt, although he managed to make it a little creepy, but walking into a second-hand/used bookstore like the Strand in lower Manhattan, you get a whiff of old paper or something, mixed with antiquity, dust and decay. It's a unique smell, but I loved it.

There's something about the smell of old books in general. It adds to the experience of reading.

Now, if they make a Kindle that can replicate darkened, aged pages with an old book aroma release mechanism, then we will be all set.

Yeah can't agree more. I bought the entire book series of 'Fletch' and they're all second-hand. Some are old library books from the late 70s. They got that wonderful old musky smell.
