Surprisingly original plot to a sequel to a comedy

I mean the kidnapping in of itself was not that original, but the way it went down and with the double twist kept me interested in the movie beyond just the jokes.

I did not really see the twist coming and that's pretty rare in most movies, especially a comedy.

Yeah I knew something was up but I was definitely thrown off. It was a solid movie. Usually comedy sequels use the same plot and jokes as the original. This movie had some jokes that were the same and the plot was similar, but it didn't have that same "here we go again" feeling you get from a lot of sequels to comedies. For example, Hangover 2 was pretty much the exact same movie as the first.

Well said. They had the right mindset while making this one. They embraced the fact that some things were going to be similar instead of trying too hard to to pretend they weren't.

While I watched this I was thinking how clever Horrible Bosses 2 was compared to Hangover 2.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

Not quite as funny as the original, but a more twisty plot. I quite emjoyed this. The critics were outrageously wrong.
