Who was the worst villain in the Horrible Bosses series?

I would say Harken was the worst, followed very closely by Bert. I personally hated Bert the most because he was such a sadistic cutthroat businessman and cared more about money than his own son. Rex was basically a replacement for Bobby, plus a sympathetic "tragic villain" aspect. As for Julia, she'd be a dream boss for almost anyone but Dale. Still, she was definitely worse in this movie, fantasizing about teenage boys and actually raping Dale this time.

I vote Dex for worst villain. Yeah, his dad was awful, but he actually SHOT and killed his dad! They were all horrible, but still, hilarious!

Harken shot and killed Pellet... and tried to shoot and kill several other folks as well.

I'd say Harken was by far the worst. But that's also becuase Kevin Spacey just did such a great job playing him.

Rex IMO was the worst with Harken being close behind, I totally hated Rex and hated how he became nice to the guys for his own greed.

reply

Rex was definitely not the worst. For one thing, he was the only villain with any sympathetic side whatsoever. And yeah he killed his dad, but his dad was such a greedy, unloving a-whole that he sort of had a Freudian excuse for turning out like he did.

That is the fundamental question of why some people turn out like that with a parent like rex had while others who have the same type of parent turn out fine. On the otherhand kids that have great parents turn out to be like rex were they have no morales etc.
So what does it really come down to?
Are people born evil?
Is it the way they are raised?
Is it today's society?
Is it a mental change in that person?

I believe that It's a bit of all the above. I have yet to see the film but i will tomorrow night but going from what I have read rex has a big physiological problem which Is dangerous in it's self. But it would come down to how aware is he? With what he is doing wrong becouse if he is fully aware of what he is doing is sick and evil thenni would yes he is the worse.

I'm not clumsy it's just the floor hates me, the table and chairs are bullies and the walls get in

Rex was a lot like Bobby as a villain. The key difference is, Bobby had a great dad and was a prick in spite of that fact. Rex probably would've been a decent guy had his dad actually acted like a human being with him.

reply

Probably true it's two sides of the spectrum great father/horrible father both offspring turn out horrible.

Bert Hanson was a weak villain

reply

I wouldn't call him weak he just didn't have enough screen time

Good point. I didn't think of it that way. Wasn't Bobby potentially killing a lot of Bolivians? He gets my vote for worst villain.

My favorite villains are Julia, Harken, Bert and Rex Hanson. They all rock ;)

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

I think Julia was the worst. One of the things I dislike about this series is the way her sexual harrassment of Dale is treated; if the genders were reversed these films would receive a huge amount of backlash. I hate that we find out that she actually did rape Dale at the end of the second one and it's just treated as a funny gag.
