YOU CANNOT DRIVE ON THE HOOVER DAM!

Seriously, that's why that giant bridge that collapsed in the background is there. No more vehicle traffic(Except for official vehicles, of course). And why were the pop up bollards somehow the "safe zone" for people? Just because they were at the edge of the canyon wall? It's an EARTHquake, the EARTH moves, too.

I can already tell that this movie is going to be hard to finish.

Easy there Dr. Science....don't get your calculator twisted. It's an action movie, actual facts do not matter all that much. Just enjoy it for what it it...or don't.

Among all the other things, why did this bother you? I am guessing you haven't been to Hoover dam but want to sound posh and in your own little world want to think of yourself as a traveller and adventurer while in reality you are just sitting in your couch for the most part of your life.
Now I have been to Hoover dam a couple of times and have driven along the dam on both occasions just like you saw in the movie.

yes you can drive over it. there are even gaps so pedestrians can cross the street without getting run over

I love when people with the realism fetish get the real facts wrong. You can drive over the Hoover Dam, genius.

The bridge in the background was built so that it's no longer necessary to drive over the Hoover Dam if you're trying to take 93 to or from Vegas. You used to have to do that even if you weren't sightseeing.
