Regarding The Nostalgia Critic's review of the AVGN Movie
What's with the Critic criticizing the AVGN movie for misspelling ET? Does the words "copyright infringement" mean anything to the Critic?
It seems a little stupid to criticize the bologna sandwich scene for being silly and pointless when the entire point of the scene was to be silly and pointless.
The Critic's "it's just a flesh wound" gag would've been a lot funnier if the AVGN Movie didn't already have an "It's Just A Flesh Wound" gag. It's generally a funnier idea to reference jokes from other movies, not the one you're currently reviewing.
I like how the Critic mocks the Nerd for making an unmanly reaction in the movie when Doug Walker's cameo is entirely comprised of him freaking out. The Critic's excessive praising of Doug Walker's cameo is predictable but that doesn't stop it from being funny as hell.
The Critic's futile attempts to pronounce the monster's name in the AVGN movie reminds me of a previous Nostalgia Critic episode in which The Critic and his friends are unable to pronounce the name of Rapper/Actor Tone Loc.
The Critic criticizes the Nerd for getting a camera glare in his glasses but then the Critic can't get a camera glare out of his own glasses. This self-deprecating humor reminds me of the Captain N Episode when the Critic criticizes the cartoon for showing a character in front of a blank background (not realizing his own show has him talking in front of a blank background).
My favorite part of the review of the AVGN episode was when the Critic mocks the hat the Nerd wears in the first desert sequence and wonders if the Nerd is turning into Hunter S. Thompson. The Critic impersonated the Gonzo journalist in the Critic's review of We're Back A Dinosaur's Story
I was disappointed the Critic doesn't realize that the AVGN Movie's plot of government secrets in an Atari game is a rip-off of the 1984 film Cloak & Dagger. Granted it wasn't the most popular film of 1984 so the Critic may not have seen it.
I loved the ending. The AVGN messing up the Critic's review reminds me of Bugs Bunny messing up Daffy Duck's life in the Looney Tunes classic Duck Amok.
