Decent, but not great
Just got home from seeing The House With A Clock In Its Walls. It was directed by Eli Roth and stars Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, and Owen Vaccaro. It is a family fantasy/comedy about a boy in the 1950s who goes to live with his uncle in a mysterious, magical house. I thought it was an alright family adventure, though nothing spectacular. The cast does a good job and elevates the material, but the film could have used more humour and more action. There are some good moments, but it felt like it goes on a little too long. I enjoyed it for what it was, but don't think I would likely watch it again. I rate The House With A Clock In Its Walls a decent 7/10.
