Quite disappointing...
Heard positive news of this, however, it was so unnecessarily slow and lingered on and on without seeming to get anywhere. To me, the slow scene filming and endless lingering was serving no storytelling purpose at all.

shareIt sounds like the film version of the series:
The Returned (2012-2015) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2521668
Not really. I've seen the original version of that and parts of the re-make and it is different and I don't want to offer spoilers, but the undead are mentally vacant with reptillian survival instincts intact.
It is just the filming technique was beautiful but so slow with no noticeable need for the slowness of the filming (what I'm referring to are prolonged scenes like that of a person driving, people in a rowboat, and segments of nature and just general lingering of the camera).
Thanks for that tip, I now know what to expect. What’s with the upside down cross on the poster? Is it inferring that everything here is due to satanic/demonic influences?
shareI don't mind the slow pace as long as it builds up to *something*. It ended with a whimper.
