Why hire ILM for this?

So they hired ILM for this installment and even Dennis Muren supervised it (according to imdb) although he is not credited. The effects in the first three were better so I can't figure out why ILM was needed when any FX house could do what was in this movie.

I agree, maybe they did the fx in the scene where the mother gets killed and falls back to the floor or the ghost in kinect night vision scene
