I was just wondering, what did you think of not only this phrase but also its use in the context of this film and its overall plot? Was there a deeper meaning behind this?

Was it also trying to say something to the extent of how yes there really are a lot of terrible things happening in the world but we must apply proper and appropriate procedures otherwise there could even happen by mistake certain cases where totally innocent people may get falsely accused of doing something terrible and then in some instances, there is no going back?

Is "holding on to each other" also a way of saying we should not prejudge and act like the vigilantes did in this movie?
