The first photo he scans are of servicemen. He isn't in the picture. Are we to assume that A. Dreyfuss had a son in the military or B. He was an officer before the plague? B would explain why he assumed a leadership position in the colony.

I don't remember the content of the photo, but he clearly says he used to be in the military, which led him into the leadership of the colony.🐭
