Is Caesar continually getting smarter? (spoilers? It's a 3y/o movie)

One of the things that struck me about the dialogue between Caesar and Malcolm -- and Caesar and Koba -- at the end of the movie was that Caesar began using the first and second person. "You are not ape." (Malcolm: "I thought we had a chance") "So did I." None of the apes used anything but the third person previously ("Caesar *is* home") and while I don't know sign language, at all, I've heard that their spoken language accurately reflected the grammatical structure of ASL, hence why it sounded slightly awkward to hear at first.

Having only seen the first two rebooted "Apes" films recently, I'm kicking myself for it and looking forward to this summer's third instalment very eagerly. I thought the first two, and this one particularly, were extraordinary.

I think he is definitely improving his speaking skills, so in that sense, yes I think he is getting smarter and evolving as a leader and as a communicator.

I absolutely love what they are doing with these new Apes movies. They are better than any of the 1970's sequels, imo.

Short answer, yes. Even before the third movie came out (since the first film actually), I thought it was obvious Ceaser was going to continue to evolve (specifically mentally) with each film. It’s a natural development.

Don't know if it makes any diference but Caesar was exposed to two viruses: 112 while still in the womb and then 113 when he stole it from Will's fridge and when he released it in that facility where he met Maurice and the other apes.
