We had "zombies" but they were not the zombies we wanted, but multiplayer zombies making micro transactions and rendering the GTA V single player mode ossified.

What do you need zombies for? There are dozens of games out there, online and not with zombies in them.

Actually, there are zombies now. At least on pc. There is this mod called FiveM, which allows you to host and play on servers that are not Rockstar's. And in this mod, there are servers with zombie game modes. I haven't tried it out myself yet cause I don't want to risk getting banned, but I'll probably download it later on. Just need to muster up the courage.
