Was Terrence Howard supposed to be a Hispanic?

He wasn't bad in this, but when he started talking in Spanish at the beginning of the film, it was laughable.

No, but his maid was so that was why he spoke Spanish to them. Well that is what I think anyways.

Well he does look a bit Latin ala Dominican, Cuban, or Puerto Rican. New Yorican.
