What a good movie spoiled by rushed ending

Good movie spoiled by stupid writing in the last 15 minutes.

I think the director made similar complaints. Something about being rushed through production.

Thought the ending was pretty good. It didn't end in the warehouse as planned but ended up in the bad guy's house. Given the situation Victor was in, there weren't many alternatives.

If you think the ending is bad, what would be a good ending?

reply

a better ending would've been if Victor had got caught after killing some bad guys in the Alphones' House.. they bring both him and Beatrice into the warehouse and he blows up the warehouse after that...

or atleast it is the ending i wanted...
Victor and Beatrice would be together.. his plan also executed just fine..

reply

Ah, you're just one of those people who wants a sad ending for the sake of having a sad ending.

Gotcha.

Couldn't agree more. Absolutely horrid final sequence that might have worked in a mainstream action flick, but seemed entirely misplaced here. A complete last minute screw up. I don't mind a sombre, fairly grown up film ending with a shootout, but the shootout should reflect the tone of the film- The Veteran did this very well.

reply

I thought you were referring to the last minute where Victor and Beatrice finally kiss before the credits roll.

What was wrong with the climactic shootout?

I agree with you. Very slow, only 2 decent actions. My friend is a die-hard fan of Colin Farrell, but I am happy I missed the last 28 mins and Total Recall, also a Farrell flop.

I also thought the ending was rushed.

I would rather have had his big bomb plan go ahead... in some way or another...

Noomi Rapace was great... as always...

still entertaining...
I give it a 6.

Director Niels Arden Oplev has disowned the American advertising campaign, which he felt misrepresented the film. He also spoke of budget problems during production, which forced him to speed up the shoot, and of not being able to edit the film the way he would have preferred.
