That one girl will always do something stupid and the guy will be hurt by that somehow, and at the end will have to rescue that stupid girl.

The intent was to show that two damaged people couldn't deny their connection for one another. So each sabotage each other's plan in order to save the other.Basically love triumph overall.
shareActually, it's at the point where it's not just the girls, it's everyone. But admittedly, women get the worst of it. Chalk it up to Hollywood aka Misogynist Nation. My other big peeve is kids in movies. In the War of the Worlds (Spielberg/Cruise, I kept hoping the aliens would kill them off. They were just awful.
